Padilla Habano Robusto

This cigar is made with a beautiful wrapper that has a pleasing chestnut hue. The construction appears to be excellent as the cigar shows no areas that are too firm or soft. The foot is a bit frayed detracting from the visual experience. The pre light aroma is of roasted nuts and light tobacco. The pre light draw is leathery with a note of light tobacco.

The cigar opens with depth. There are notes of leather and roasted nuts accompanied by a creamy note that coats the palate. The burn is acceptable and the draw is excellent. The frayed foot proves to not be an issue. The cigar maintains this balance through the first half.

At just past the halfway point the cigar maintains a leathery core, but there are pleasing notes of light tobacco and coffee bean that begin to present at the back of the palate. The burn and draw are remarkable to this point.

The finish is pleasing and contains notes of leather, coffee and roasted nuts.

Appearance- 88 hurt by the frayed foot
Taste- 91 excellent depth, could have been more complex
Construction- 92 well made
Strength- 91 an excellent medium presentation
Overall- 90.5 an excellent smoke
