Fonseca 2-2 Maduro

This is a small cigar that has been a mainstay for me for some years, it is my go to when I don't have alot of time for a smoke but still need one. It always presents a little roughly, with some bumpy textures, this one is no exception. However, it is well made and the wrapper has no flaws. The pre light aroma has a strong inflence of cedar and light cocoa. The pre light draw is earthy.

This cigar moved quickly and upon lighting shows well developed flavors of light wood and cocoa, there is a slight bitterness at the back of the palate. The burn is solid and the ash develops with a dark gray color. The draw is exceptional for such a small vitola.

There is really no development to this cigar. It presents cedar, cocoa and earth notes throughout. The bitterness exits from the experience about half way through. The burn and construction stay true and cigar does not get hot as small cigars often do.

The finish is a nice mixture of cedar and earth and shows no sign of harshness or bitterness.

Appearance- 85 the rough looks hurt the score
Taste- 87 a nice solid tasting cigar that lacks depth and complexity
Construction- 91 high marks here due to the size of the cigar
Strength- 85 no remarkable strength characteristics, just a nice medium cigar
Overall- 87 a pleasing short smoke
