Don Pepin Garcia Blue Demi Tasse

I have smoked several of this offering, but had never reviewed one before. It is typically a smoke I choose when time is short and I do not want to sacrifice quality for expedience. It is a small cigar and presents with a light to medium brown wrapper. The appearance is rough, but I expect that from a small vitola. The pre light aroma is of light tobacco and a floral note is present. The pre light draw is also of light tobacco, and is a little tight.

The cigar opens with notes of light tobacco and has more strength than one would expect from a cigar of this size. There is a slightly acidic note that is present, but it is not prominent or overwhelming.

Due to the size this cigar does not develop a flavor profile, but is consistantly presenting light tobacco flavors with acidic undertones. The burn is slightly off and the draw stays tight, at points there is some labor involved to generate some smoke.

I am disappointed with this as compared to other samples of the same cigar that I smoked in the past. The finish is short and metallic and the cigar burns hot toward the last third, though that is not uncommon for small cigars.

Appearance- 84
Taste- 81
Construction- 87 this was fairly decent for a small cigar despite the tight draw which I expect from small smokes
Strength- 83 somewhere between medium and full, but it was difficult to discern with the muddled notes on the finish
Overall- 83.75
